![]() The Swing Sesh began in 2004 as a weekly practice session organised by a handful of fresh-faced Adelaide swing dancers. Founder Chris Harm started teaching classes in response to the overwhelming interest, and since then, director Luna Godfrey has added her passion and enthusiasm, resulting in the only swing school of it's kind in South Australia. The Swing Sesh has put Adelaide on the global swing dancing map, and you can be a part of this fantastic community! All of our teachers are well travelled, experienced, and continually seeking to improve and expand their teaching techniques. Swing Dancing is suitable for all people of all ages and walks of life. There are many different kinds, and we seek to share as many of them with you as possible. You don't need any experience to start, and you don't need a partner! The term "swing dance" commonly refers to a group of dances that developed concurrently with the swinging jazz music of the 1920s, '30s and '40s, although the earliest of these forms predate swing jazz music. The best known of these dances is the Lindy Hop, a style of swing dancing found all over the world, that is full of energy and fun. ![]() |
