SATURDAY 24th March

10.30am ALL LEVELS: Solo with Ramona
11.45am ALL LEVELS: Lindy Hop (basic lindy hop footwork required).
1.15pm Lunch
2.00pm INTERMEDIATE
3.45pm INTERMEDIATE

(From my own experience learning from both Ramona and Kieran - despite the level of the workshop they are able to teach material that is challenging and interesting for dancers of all levels. To soak up as much as possible I recommend doing all of their classes - I certainly will be! :) Luna)

ABOUT RAMONA
 
Ramona is one of those unique individuals who transcends the requirement that to be a veteran of your chosen profession, you must be of an advanced age.Born in Ithaca, New York, Ramona was only 14 when spotted by one of the founding fathers of Lindy Hop, the late great Frankie Manning. Still in her early teens, Manning asked Ramona to open with him at the Mid-Summer Night Swing series at the Lincoln Center in New York City. Ramona eventually moved to New York City in 2003 where she continued to learn and refine her craft.
Ramona has received numerous accolades and has claimed a number of prestigious dance titles including World Lindy Hop Champion, and Authentic Jazz and Blues Champion at the 2009 Ultimate Lindy Hop Showdown. Ramona currently resides in Melbourne, Australia and teaches locally as well as continuing to teach all over Australia and around the World.


 
ABOUT KIERAN

Kieran brings an energy and enthusiasm to the floor that is as inspiring as it is unpredictable. A lover of all things Jazz, Kieran has been rock stepping his heart out since back in 2003 and combined with his love of travel has swung out all over the world. As a teacher Kieran is regarded as a great communicator with an encouraging and practical approach. Based in Melbourne, Kieran teaches weekly classes with Georgia Brooks, is co-artistic director alongside Shaz Callaghan of lindy hop troupe Harlem Shout and has the fortune and privilege of partnering Ramona Noel Staffeld as her “local boy”.
At every opportunity Kieran combines an absolute joy for the dance and a passion for the music, whether he is teaching, performing or cuttin' up the social floor.
